Muslims believe that the Holy Qur'an is the most important source of the teachings of Islam and the only divine book and revelation that has remained without any change or distortion. Thus, explaining the revelation and identifying the different aspects of this divine book has always been in the focus of attention and research of Muslim thinkers. Despite considering this issue in recent decades, a number of Orientalists, including some Christian philosophers and theologians, have offered analyses and interpretations of revelation, many of which lead to the denial of revelation. In order to mention the truth of revelation and to clarify the correctness of the interpretations given by Orientalists and Christian theologians about revelation, and without addressing these analyses, we referred to the Qur'an and asked the Holy Qur'an what practical, capable, and content characteristics of revelation are. Through this descriptive-analytical study, we conclude that revelation has an external source from a practical point of view. From the capable point of view, it has characteristics such as competence, knowledge, understanding and being infallible from making mistakes, and from the point of view of content, it includes the guidance of human beings in the dimension of belief, ethics and practice. The results indicate the incorrectness of many of the analyses presented of revelation. Having a good grasp of the above-mentioned subjects rejects the acceptance of Orientalist analyses.
